I hope the holidays find you happy and healthy. We had Christmas with Brian's dad this past Saturday and baby heaton made out like a bandit. With all the different sports clothes that have already made their way into the baby closet we are going to have one confused child. Bears fan or Colts fan? Illinois fan, Florida fan, or Indiana fan? So many choices! (Sorry Steve, no Purdue.) We are up in our home town for the holidays with the Swinters and the Boyles now and are having a blast. I never thought that I would be alright with people touching my stomach but I'm not having too much of a problem with it now that I have a little tummy growing. Nothing too noticeable with my winter clothes on but it will be sticking out in no time. With all the family and friends that we are seeing I don't have much of a choice about it, everyone wants to feel the belly since they can't see it very well. We have our next appointment coming up this week...Dec. 28th to see how we are coming along then our ultrasound on Jan. 9th! We can't wait to find out what our little one is going to be, let's hope the baby is cooperative and doesn't have its legs crossed or anything like that. I have been able to feel it wiggling around quite a bit lately so here's hoping it holds still just long enough.
Have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!

The Latest ...11/27/07
So we had another appointment just yesterday and everything went great... and I didn't have to put on a hospital gown! We did have to wait in the exam room for 50 minutes for the doctor to come in (they had a scheduling mix up) but luckily Brian was there to keep me company or I think I may have gone insane.
We got to hear the heartbeat for the second time. It is the greatest swishing noise in the world! We apparently have a very cooperative baby also considering it has taken less than 3 seconds to find the heartbeat both times we've had a chance to hear it.
We also found out, after a bit of drama and anxiety, that we WILL get to have an ultrasound! Our insurance needs a "Medical Reason" for it in order for it to be covered and Dr. Bolin found one yesterday without even having to lie for me. There's nothing wrong at all so don't worry, the baby is just so well fed and taken care of that it is barely bigger than usual for how far along we are, reason enough for insurance to pay for an ultrasound though! Our doctor had us schedule it for after 20 weeks so that in case we don't find reason again, we can at least find out if it is a boy or girl at the same time.
So coming Jan. 9th 2008 we will know what colors to steer towards for the baby! In the mean time, we have the poll on the left side for what you think it will be. The days left to vote is also a countdown until the appointment date.

The Not So New News
To keep this whole baby blog thing complete, we should probably start at the beginning...
Holly and I found out that she was pregnant on Friday, September 21st (me at 3:41 p.m. - yes, I wrote it down because I'm a big dork - Holly a little before).
Our current due date is May 22, 2008 so we are at about 14 weeks along the way.
Plenty more sure to come...
