Wow, we have an active little guy! The baby has been kicking like crazy for while now which is pretty fun. It makes it slightly hard for Holly to concentrate on anything other than her stomach as she feels the little guy moving all over the place. Brian got to feel the baby kick finally too!!! After several attempts and about a million "did you feel that?" questions from Holly, the baby finally kicked hard enough that Brian was able to feel it.
Holly's tummy is finally starting to stick out a little! It won't be long now before she can't hide it from people anymore. The first and second graders at school found out she was pregnant just at the end of last week. One of the little second graders she has in class gave her a hug as usual and with all his autistic bluntness stated in front of the class "I think you're going to have a baby soon!". And you know how it goes with little kids from there... news traveled quickly to the first graders also.
We plan on doing some shopping this coming weekend as we attempt to get our registry set up so look for more information on that. We'll see if there's anything left to register for after our fabulous grandparents to be have been spoiling the little one already!

Shopping Trip... 1/12/08
Once we found out we were having a boy, we decided that we could start seriously looking at furnishing the soon to be nursery (previously Brian's office). The green carpet in the room is going to limit some of the things we do but since we're probably looking at doing an outdoorsy or animal inspired room, it should work out well.

After some furniture searching at Babys R Us on Wednesday, we went back out Saturday to see what was out there. We first went to a USA Baby store and walked around. We had found some things we kind of liked but were going to leave and then, on the way out, found a crib that we had missed the first time through. We really loved the crib and, not surprisingly since Holly spotted it first, it was on sale! We took down some of the information about it and went home, fully expecting that we'd go back another day. After looking on the crib-maker's website we found that there was also a store in Carmel that carried it. We decided to go ahead and head up to the Carmel store and found it was even more on sale there.
After some checking on the other colors that the crib came in we found our favorite (the first color we saw) and went ahead and bought it. Here' s a picture...

We also ordered the dresser that you see in the back of the picture (without the hutch). The dresser will also be our changing table in the nursery. They had to order the furniture but we'll find out soon when it will be delivered. We've got plenty of cleaning and rearranging to do before then...
Our Ultrasound...1/9/08
After much anticipation, we finally got to have our ultrasound. If you've looked on here before this post, you probably already know the most important thing that we found out...
IT'S A BOY!!!
Although we couldn't tell what we were looking at most of the time, the lady doing the ultrasound was very good at pointing out what we were seeing. At one point in time, she even suggested twins (I think both of our hearts stopped for a second) but then realized that the baby had just turned around really quickly. Other highlights include when we could see the baby rub his eyes and then move his fingers like he was waving (this is what was happening in the 4th picture below).
They measured the length of the baby's arms and legs and everything else and everything was measuring out that we were about 19.5 weeks along, not 21.5 weeks like we thought. After a quick review of some important dates, we found out that 19.5 weeks is actually much closer to being accurate and our new due date is now MAY 31, 2008.
Since our due date changed so much, we are going to have a second ultrasound on March 11th to make sure that the baby is developing properly. Hopefully we'll have some clearer pictures to show everyone at that time and we also are going to be able to bring in a videotape (apparently they haven't updated to the 21st century and gone DVD compatible) to record the ultrasound too.
