Blog Slackers

So Brian and Holly are officially total slackers when it comes to this whole blogging thing. We promise that we will try to get better as the arrival date of the baby gets closer. Not too many recent changes other than the size of Holly's stomach.

Our little boy has been super active for a few months now and makes it known when he is awake. Nothing that hurts yet but it is an odd sensation when it feels like there is a party going on in your stomach. Sometimes we swear that Holly is carrying an alien the way he rolls around and makes her stomach twist and turn so much that you can even see it from the outside.

We started our childbirth classes last week and have them every Tuesday night. Our teacher is an 80 year old woman who has no filter on her mouth and says whatever she is thinking. She's pretty funny. She told us all that she is sorry in advance for offending anyone and that it will definitely happen again. This past Tuesday we were talking about breathing methods to help relax you during labor and the two of us could not stop laughing during the "pant pant blow". You all know the one that you see in TV shows and movies that seems so incredibly ridiculous, well..... it is and we are just immature enough to laugh through the whole thing as the teacher made us sit facing each other to practice it. Let's hope we can keep the laughter going through the actual labor! Next week we get a tour of the hospital and all the birthing center so we are really excited about that class.

We got new windows in the rest of the house last week (now the nursery is not a freezer, which is nice). If anyone has figured out how to poop or grow money let us know.

Other than that there should be some more belly pictures showing up on here in the upcoming weeks. Holly is not technologically savvy enough to figure it out (maybe if she tried she could but what's the fun in that) so we will have to wait until Brian puts them on the blog. We'll try to have a picture every week or two for those of you that we don't get to see very often.

Painting the Nursery... 2/9/08

We finished up our registry today at Target. Not a whole lot of things there but found a couple of things we liked that were not at Babies R Us.

The bigger news is that we got the nursery all painted, including Holly and Sawyer's masterpiece of a tree in the corner of the room. We can't wait until we can get our crib and dresser in and finish decorating in there! Here's a couple of pictures:

Registry and More... 2/2/08

Yesterday was a fun/exhausting day. First we went in search of our favorite crib bedding that we had seen online and found it at the second store we visited. We were able to match it up with the crib that we bought before and found that they went well together (thank god). They only had one set left and it was on sale so we went ahead and got it. Here's what it looks like (different crib than ours of course):




Our second stop was to Baby's R Us to do our baby registry. When we got there, there was a waiting list for scanners so that gives you an idea of how busy it was. Let me recommend avoiding that store at all costs on a Saturday unless you absolutely have to go in there.

Anyway, we took about 2.5 hours (with a couple of breaks) to get mostly finished. There are some items that we didn't particularly like there that we'll have to search somewhere else for - most likely Target. Also need to go and look at some online ratings of the products we picked to see if we need to change. I guess this is all the lawyer's way of putting a disclaimer on our registry... it is DEFINITELY subject to change.
