A Day at the Beach

This past week we were able to get away for a few days to go down to Hilton Head, SC for our first beach vacation with Brian's dad. Since flying can be so expensive and sounds like a difficult task with a little guy who wants to be down all the time, we chose to drive down. Clay did a great job on the trip there and back and I think never wants to be in the car that long again. Mommy on the other hand was not much help driving on the way down because she was sick (go figure, holly was sick on vacation) We had a wonderful time while we were there, spent some time on the beach, ate alot of great food, and watched a little Greg Russell (the heaton boys have been going to see this children's entertainer in hilton head for along time).

Clay loved the beach, but not the water. He was a little afraid of the giant bathtub that moved. He found out quickly that sand does not taste good and that if your hands are covered in sand sucking your thumb is not a good idea.

We are in the middle of weaning Clay again and things are going so much better this time around. The trip in the car was a good way to start skipping a couple of feedings as he slept straight through them and we are down to 2 feedings a day + meals and snacks.

Now that we are back home and getting into the swing of our normal routine once again - its time to start packing for another trip. This time we are headed to Michigan for Aunt Heather and Uncle Adam's (Lane's) wedding. we are so excited and hopefully we'll have a tone more pictures to share.

Oh, did we mention that we chalked Clay's party sickness up to cutting his back teeth? Our 12 month old has his 9th and 10th teeth coming in now. yes, you read it right - the child has 10 teeth! We're only 10th percentile for height and weight but we sure can produce teeth at a rapid pace.

Yeah! We're Here!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLAY!

Ok, so he won't officially be 1 until 2:35pm today, but here's some pictures from last weekend's birthday activities. A big party was planned, but as you'll be able to tell from the first picture, ended up being curtailed to a small family affair.
