Holly asked me to post another belly picture on here (taken May 24th but I'm slow to get things updated) so here it is:

Holly went into the doctor on Friday and she is almost 4cm dilated now so we aren't going to go in until Monday morning at 6am unless Clay decides to show up before then. We're just happy he didn't decide to come during the huge storm we had last night. We got very lucky though, because the house directly to the north of us and on up the street was without power (ours stayed on), two houses directly to the south of us lost huge tree limbs (we had no damage), and Chief has finally come out from under the bed.
We will of course spread the word and the pictures once Clay shows up so stay tuned.
And because no baby post can be without a picture of Holly dancing...
Hey everyone!
We had our "last" scheduled Dr. appt. today and everything is looking good. We are now 3 cm dilated- slow and steady I guess. The Dr. wants us to go back in on Friday to see if we are any further along. If we are not too much further along, then we are scheduled to go into the hospital on Sunday at 5pm to help move things along (dilate a few more cm) chemically a bit then which could cause us to go into labor. If we haven't gone into labor by Monday morning- then we will be fully induced in the early hours of the morning.
If we go in on Friday and we are further along, then we will wait to go into the hospital until Monday morning (again bright and early) and be induced fully then. All of this of course is only if we haven't gone into labor already.
So... All in all, we will be parents in LESS THAN 1 WEEK!
Holly is still feeling just fine, we even made it down to join the morning tailgate before the Indy 500 this past Sunday. Being pregnant really hasn't made us slow down too much, but it has given Holly a good excuse to go get a pedicure every now and then.
We are taking the laptop to the hospital so we can post pictures and let you all know when Clay is here, so keep a look out and if you can't get ahold of us... who knows, we might just be at the hospital!
Had our regular Tuesday doctor's appointment to check up on Clay and see how he is doing and what not. We are now 2 cm dilated so at least we are moving in the right direction. Our Dr. also told us that is we do not have him by our due date (May 31st) we can be induced either on June 2nd or June 4th (of course we picked the 2nd- why wait 2 more days!) So he will definitely be on his way by June 2nd! So we have anywhere between 1 - 12 days left to go until we will be parents, CRAZY! Other than that, Holly is still feeling good and having a good time relaxing at home. Brian is getting everything organized and little projects finished up at work so that when the time comes he can just take off and not have to worry about what else is on his desk. Hope you are all well too and hopefully we will have some exciting news to share soon!
This past Sunday we took some time to pack things up so that we are ready for a hospital trip at any moment. Clothes for Holly, clothes for Brian, clothes for Clay, movies, music, computer, etc. etc, etc. We plan on posting here on the blog while we are at the hospital, AFTER the labor and delivery obviously. So if you want the scoop early make sure you check the blog. Seems pretty surreal! All the preparation makes us feel like Clay could actually be showing up soon!
We have the nursery all cleaned up now and it's ready for the day Clay gets to come home. All of his clothes and blankets are washed and put away (they are all so little!) We only have 16 days until our official due date. Brian still thinks we are going early (next week type early). Holly still feels so good that its hard to believe that labor is anywhere near. Although she did have a dream this weekend that we had to leave a party early this Friday because she was in labor.
Had another Dr. appointment yesterday... We are still 1 cm dilated, which doesn't tell us a whole lot since that's exactly where we were last Tuesday. We did find out that our OB is on call over Memorial Day weekend and that if we deliver anytime in the next 2 - 3 weeks our chances of having her are extremely high! We are meeting with our possible pediatrician tomorrow. Everyone says great things about her so we are hoping that we really like her as well.
That's all (or alot) for today! Hopefully we'll have something more exciting soon!
I officially started my maternity leave this week. I ran around all last week trying to get everything ready to go for my sub so she could just breeze through it which turned out to be way more work than I thought it would be. Lesson planning for 6 different grades for a month as well as setting up all the odds and ends for field day at the end of the year! Whew! It took a lot out of me but its over and now i can just relax and get things ready around here. Day 1 was extremely uneventful as I just got used to the fact that I was home. Are we all aware that daytime television is really not very good? Day 2 is a little more productive as I have started getting the nursery back in order and washing all the baby things before he gets here. (I had no idea how much baby clothing could fit in one load of laundry!) Other than that the cats are enjoying the fact that I am home all day and they can get outside more, they have no idea what is headed their way in a few weeks so I am trying to give them all the attention I can now.
I feel like I am cheating the maternity leave system a little bit because I feel so great still. No pain or discomfort to really speak of although some simple tasks have become near impossible (ie. tying my own shoes, thank goodness for flip flop season!) I'm hoping that it stays that way until the end which is approaching us very quickly. 25 days to Clay's due date! I can't believe its gone by so quickly!
Hope all is well with everyone and we'll keep you posted on the happenings.
