Yah! Early Maternity Leave

I officially started my maternity leave this week. I ran around all last week trying to get everything ready to go for my sub so she could just breeze through it which turned out to be way more work than I thought it would be. Lesson planning for 6 different grades for a month as well as setting up all the odds and ends for field day at the end of the year! Whew! It took a lot out of me but its over and now i can just relax and get things ready around here. Day 1 was extremely uneventful as I just got used to the fact that I was home. Are we all aware that daytime television is really not very good? Day 2 is a little more productive as I have started getting the nursery back in order and washing all the baby things before he gets here. (I had no idea how much baby clothing could fit in one load of laundry!) Other than that the cats are enjoying the fact that I am home all day and they can get outside more, they have no idea what is headed their way in a few weeks so I am trying to give them all the attention I can now.

I feel like I am cheating the maternity leave system a little bit because I feel so great still. No pain or discomfort to really speak of although some simple tasks have become near impossible (ie. tying my own shoes, thank goodness for flip flop season!) I'm hoping that it stays that way until the end which is approaching us very quickly. 25 days to Clay's due date! I can't believe its gone by so quickly!

Hope all is well with everyone and we'll keep you posted on the happenings.

I'm so glad you left a new update. I needed some more info on what is going on. I'm glad you are feeling good and going to get sometime home to yourself to relax and prepare until the little one gets here. Enjoy yourself and give Brian a hug for me. Love you!!

Hello Heaton Family...
So glad everything is about ready for the baby :-) We can't wait to meet him. Once he's out I'm sure Nate will love him...he's a bit creeped out by the baby growing inside of you...haha. Good luck with all the last minute things & get some rest now, you won't be getting much when Clay arrives. It is all soooo worth it. Love you both xoxoxo
