lots of news

Hello Everyone!

I hope that this extremely tardy post finds you well. We have been keeping busy around here lately with a busy little boy exploring every nook and cranny of the house he can get to and working hard (mostly Brian) on getting everything ready for our move that is coming up in LESS THAN A MONTH!!!! So I joked previously about hoping that the first person who walked through our house would buy it... and wouldn't you know that's exactly what happened! No bidding war as I also had mentioned in the silly hopeful prediction but the first guy who came through ended up putting a really decent offer on the house and we countered just a little bit. Everything has been accepted including our inspection response counter and we are good to go. Yippie for not having to carry 2 mortgages!! We close on both houses on the same day (May 15th) and have the moving van rented for that weekend already. Now comes the packing... and then some more packing. Moving is hard work and we haven't even really started yet.

Clay has been a great boy lately (like always). With all the people coming around the house for inspections and estimates he has been totally flexible and just going with the flow. Hopefully that means that the move will not be too hard on him either.

We had a nice visit from Grandma and Grandpa Swinter 2 weekends ago while they were on their way to and from Kentucky. It is so nice that Indianapolis is on the way to just about everything they drive to so we get to see them alot more than we would otherwise. For those of you who know my dad, you should see him with Clay, it will melt your heart to watch the grizzly bear blowing raspberries with a 10 month old.

We headed up the lake this past weekend so brad and Brian could put the dock in and jan and steve and I did some cleaning. Its always nice to be at the lake and I know that Clay is going to love it there too. (I was mostly on baby watch so I can't take much credit for the lake house looking all clean and pretty) We had a great time and are looking forward to spending some more time up there this summer.

This Friday we are heading out on our first big adventure with Clay. We are on our way to Gainsville, FL to see uncle Adam graduate. Here's hoping that the trip goes smooth and CLay enjoys his first plane ride. If you've ever traveled on a plane with a crawler... please feel free to send your advice and tips our way.

have a great day and rest of the week!

Holly, Awesome news about the house! What a GREAT blessing! As for the plane flight, here's a few of my tips. Put away some of his favorite toys the week or 2 before and pack them for the flight. He will be delighted to see "new" things. FOOD FOOD FOOD and maybe even suckers? Okay, now you think I'm a terrible mom, but my kids LOVE them and they were special treats for the plane...always good for the sanity. I don't know if he'd watch TV yet but you can always try a portable DVD player. Let him be mobile as much as you can at the gate, leaving that stuck in your seat for the flight. Most children will do fine...there's always the screamer and you just pray you're not that momma or sitting by that momma! Are you coming up Mother's Day weekend? Love you sister!!
